Car Insurance for All! Plus, LESS EXPENSIVE!

The biggest issue for all of us who pay for car insurance and have to pay higher premiums because there are so many uninsured motorist-solution found!

The one thing that we, the drivers in California have in common is, we all have to put gas in order to drive. Therefore, the solution; thanks to a university professor I had (I apologize, I forgot his name)who facilitated this conversation; Pay for liability insurance at the pump, put a $.02 to $.05 per gallon insurance fee when you gas up.

Result, all drivers; legal, undocumented, tourist, guests, foreigners, etc... would pay for insurance as they drive. So cab drivers, truckers, commuters (like me) and others who are on the road longer than others would pay for their fair share of insurance. As well as those who would like to have full coverage can then go out and shop for insurance as we do now, however, without having to pay for liability or uninsured motorist insurance; since we pay for it at the pump.

The insurance companies would not have the argument of hiking up the premiums and we would have the advantage of reduction in premiums and the assurance that all drivers on the road are insured.

Yes, I know that there would have to be in place an agency to manage this process, however, it does not have to be a government agency, it can be one put together by the people as a non profit - non partisan organization.

Pay insurance at the pump and make sure all drivers are insured. A way for the insurance companies to be regulated by the people who put them in business. Think of this concept; where else can it work?

Love to hear your comments.

Welfare vs. Supplemental

Entitlements are part of our constitution and a certain percentage of our budget is allocated towards entitlements; welfare, section 8 housing, etc. Here's a new concept - lets not get the poor people co dependent on Welfare and provide an incentive to them so they can move off it.

Often times I have heard "I make more money on welfare than I do working at McDonald's" or any other low wage job. So here is the solution; only give them welfare for six months and then stop it, however, since we don't want to build an even bigger homeless community, supplement them if they have a low paying job. How? The same way as welfare works; food stamps, section 8 housing, health care, etc. however, now they will want to move up or progress because they would be working as hard and still be making the same amount of money, so maybe, just maybe they will better themselves for a better paying job, working as hard, but being rewarded for their work; being self confidence and self esteem. If they did that, then they can get off social welfare or supplements (entitlements) and be more productive in society.

Maybe I'm wrong, however, I see people living in the government housing with big screen TVs, driving nice cars, and some luxeries that I would not be able to have because I am responsible and i'm paying my bills without a government hand out.

Please don't misunderstand; I believe that we need to help some people and that children are not at fault for the bad decisions of their parents, however, what I am saying is lets provide them a hand up not a push down; our entitlement programs now are making people co dependent like a junkie on crack.

Water Conservation - Yeah Right!

As a friend said, "Follow the Money" and you will understand why things don't change, because someone is lining their pockets with money, money, money...

I just read in the newspaper that certain cities in Southern California are starting to fine people for using or wasting to much water, they say that we are very short on our water tables and that we are in for a draught. Living next to the Pacific Ocean, that is hard to believe. Here is the solution, might not be sexy or exciting, but it is most definite a solution we can all live with forever.

Not only will this solution cost less for water in the long run, however, it will also create badly needed jobs in California and help our state's economy by a huge economical boost. How you might be asking? And I'm glad you did, because here it is...

What do Catalina Island and cruise ships have in common, besides being vacation spots? The both operate their own water systems through desalination plants. Yes, you heard right; systems that filter the salt from the water and converted to fresh water. Can you image building a couple of the plants in Southern California cities such as San Diego and Los Angeles? Not only would we be able to capitalize on abundant source of water, but we would be able to sell it to other states that need it as well. It's a win win solution.

Why has it not been done? My opinion is that there is to many corporations making a lot of money on scaring the citizens and threatening them of draught conditions so they can hike up the prices and delivery less. They would be working less and making more money with a resource that is in abundance and is our right to have.

It is the same concept as oil, dig it from earth and sell it to the masses. However, the only difference is that water is abundant and will continue to supply the earth forever or close to it.

Your thoughts are always on my mind...please share.

Over flowing Prisons

Currently in the State of California, we are having problems with our prison system and it being over crowded and under funded. The state can not find money to fund them and the increasing prison population; however, we are housing, clothing, and feeding the prisoners with no return on our investment. What the system is doing is educating them to become even more harden criminals and/or to educate them on how to be smarter criminals.

We, the State of California, are very concerned with the meals being served to our prison population that must be well balanced for these criminals, however, our students in our elementary, middle and high schools are being flooded with soft drinks and junk food that are heavy in sugars and creating an obesity problems with our youth. Our priorities are wrong.

Solutions: With the over crowding of our prison system, simply provide a reduced sentence to the criminals for serving in our armed services in Iraq or Afghanistan or in any other location that they are needed. This will reduce our prison population, reform the prisoners and increase our military, as it is badly needed in fighting the war on terror. This might also have the first time criminals think again about crimes before committing them, maybe, but not sure.

This would save the State government and federal government a lot of money that can be utilized for education as well other programs. Such as: business development, environmental research and development, heath care, etc..

Summary: Prisoners to war for reduction in sentences, while saving states and federal government lots of money and providing a better education for our youth.
